LIBERTY or TYRANNY

POLITICAL SCIENCE

Political Science - the study of both State & Government.

It is said that "the study of Politics can broaden one's understanding of government, law, civics, and international relations.

Why Study Political Science? First, we are said to be a part of the government from the very moment we were born; Second, to study Political Science enables us to know more about our rights, duties as citizens, the behavior of the different braches of government as well as our relation towards other countries, and Thirdly, to study Political Science is to broadens our culture background.

Many of us have heard the word "idiot" many times in our lives when we were expressing how our view of someone was who lacked in things, but to the Political Science the word "idiot" derived by the ancient Greeks in meaning of someone who never voted, never kept abreast of government affairs, and never discussed public issues within daily conversations...in the most simplest of terms, to be an "idiot," is to be someone uninformed, as well as unconcerned, abut politics.

The Merits of democracy are as fallowed:

1. Through peaceful and honest means, the people can make changes within the government.

2. To be informed of our government strengthens the Spirit of patriotism

3. It educates the people towards the experience on governing themselves.

4. Both the success and failure of the government is a reflection of the people.

5. Democracy safeguards the rights and liberty of the people.

The disadvantages of democracy are as fallowed:

1. Democracy can lead to the "rule of ignorance." Government requires the ability to make right decisions as well as carrying them out which the majority of people are enable on doing.

2. Corrupt, or dishonest, politicians have been elected to public office do to false media, wrongfully interpreting matters at hand, bartering in which the voter is paid a certain amount to sell them their vote, or they have been easily deceive by the person running for office simply by misunderstanding them, through false media, or by buying into the person promises (lies) which many who are rightfully informed will simply know they will never be carried out.

3. Democracy pays too much attention to the quantity and not towards the quality of things

4. Those who are the right ones for the job are seldom given proper notice to the people.

5. Democracy is fickle, extravagant, slow, and open to corruption. There is really no guaranties that what one politician brought about will continue because the next party can easily change it when they are in office of power

Introducing: JOSÉ PROTACIO RIZAL!

JOSÉ PROTACIO RIZAL MERCADO Y ALONSO REALONDA (born 19 June 1861, Calamba, Philippines- died 30 December 1896, Manila, Philippines), patriot, physician and man of letters whose life and literary works were an inspiration to the Philippine nationalist movement.

QUESTION: To Jose Rizal, what is the most important contribution of every Filipino to his country’s progress?

ANSWER: The main thing is that every Filipino must be a good man, a good citizen so that he can help his country to progress by contributing his heart, and if need, be his arm. (With the head and heart, we ought to work always; with the arm when the time comes when physical strength is needed. The principal tool of the heart and the head is the pen. Other prefer the brush; others the chisel. On my part, I prefer the pen.)

of our future."
